This is a .pdf pattern, written in standard American crochet terms for Teddy the bear. With this easy pattern, you can make a lovely and traditional looking bear in a single day.

Size
5.5 inch/14 cm sitting, when made with worsted weight yarn.

The crochet pattern contains
An intro with useful info. List of materials, tools and accessories needed. Brand and colour numbers of the needed yarn. A clear and colour coded description of how to crochet and assemble the animal. Pictures and illustrations to help getting everything right. All my patterns are text edited for correct English and have been tested by an experienced crocheter before publishing.

Materials
For this bear you’ll need worsted weight yarn and an E US/3.5 mm crochet hook. You’ll need two colours of yarn. For the brown colour you’ll need about 2/3 of a 100 yard skein and about 1/6 of a skein for the light brown colour. For the eyes I’ve used 8 mm animal eyes. You will also need fibrefill and pellets for a bit of extra weight in the body (I use Hama beads).

Yarn
I strongly recommend using a fuzzy yarn because it gives the best result.

Gauge is unimportant for this pattern. If the pieces are crocheted tightly enough, they will not gape visibly when stuffed. You can make a little test swap to be sure.
