This little crab is a fun project that is quick to knit and doesn’t need a lot of yarn, so it is a super pattern for using up any odds and ends of yarn in your stash. If you don’t have any toy filling, you could use a cotton wool ball to stuff your crab’s body.

THE PATTERN INCLUDES: Row numbers for each step so you don’t lose your place, instructions for making the crab, photos, a list of abbreviations and materials. The pattern is 2 pages and written in English.

TECHNIQUES: All pieces are knitted flat (back and forth) on a pair of straight knitting needles. You will need to cast on and off, knit, purl, work increases and decreases, and sew seams.

  • A pair of straight 3.75mm knitting needles (US 5)
  • DK yarn (double knitting or light worsted weight) in pink and white
  • A small amount of toy filling
  • Beads for eyes
