Temperature Sampler Blocks is a temperature blanket made up of 12 knit blocks that each use a different stitch pattern. So not only do you get a blanket that records the temp for the year, you also get to try 12 different stitch patterns! The pdf has instructions for picking yarn, pattern details (gauge, size, yardage) and 2 charts to get you started planning your temperature blanket, as well as patterns for each of the 12 blocks.

SIZE

  • One block: 14”/36 cm wide by 15”/38 cm long
  • Blanket: 46”/115 cm wide by 64”/160 cm long

GAUGE

  • 12 sts and 16 rows = 4”/10 cm
  • Gauge not essential for this project

NEEDLES

  • US Size 10 (6 mm) straight or circular for blocks, and a circular with a long cord for BLANKET EDGING
  • Or size needed to obtain gauge

YARN

  • Lion Brand Hue + Me (80% acrylic/20% wool; 137 yards/125 meters, 4.4 oz/125 grams per skein) in 11 colors
  • Or size 5 Bulky yarn in 11 colors of choice for a total of approximately 2877 yards/2625 meters. I used 21 skeins total for my blanket, but your total may vary based on how much of each color you use. Plan to use 3 skeins (411 yards/375 meters) for the edging color.
