Terra Nova is a top down, fair isle pullover with lace panels down the sleeves and sides of the body. The fair isle is worked in the round with steeks; the lace is worked flat.
The sleeve lace panels are worked first and blocked, then stitches are picked up along the sides of the lace panels and the fair isle sleeves and upper body is worked (in the round) around the wingspan with steeks. After the upper body and sleeves are worked, you steek and graft together the sleeve stitches to close them up down the length of the arm. A gusset band is then worked in the round, followed by the rest of the body with two more steeks at the sides. Lace panels on the sides are worked flat and joined to the body fabric after the steeks are cut.
Note that there are two files to download, one is the pattern pdf and the other is the charts pdf.
Lace and colourwork are charted only.
