PATTERN INFORMATION
The Terra Vest is worked from the top down using a saddle shoulder construction. Two rectangles are created first, from which stitches are picked up for the back and fronts. The back is worked flat with short rows to shape the shoulders, then increases are added for the armholes. The fronts are shaped with short rows and increases for the V neck. Once the body is joined at the underarms, it’s worked in the round to the bottom edge. Armhole and neckline ribbing are worked in 1x1 rib, with central double decreases at the V neck for a neater look. Techniques include long tail cast-on, placing sts on hold, picking up stitches, German short rows, backward loop cast-on, increases, working flat and in the round, Italian bind-off, 1x1 ribbing and central double decreases.
