The Tesselation Game cowl provides a chance to play with colors and mosaic patterns. Featuring deceptively simple slipped-stitch colorwork (you only work one color at a time) and funky color combinations you choose yourself, this project will keep you entertained while it zips along in soothing garter stitch. Yarn ends are cleverly hidden in the i-cord edging that is worked at the same time as the body of the cowl.
The cowl is worked flat in garter stitch. On every second row, an increase and a decrease are made so the fabric comes out diagonally, giving an extra dimension to the pattern. Two sizes are featured here: A loop that goes once around the neck, and one that gives you a longer version to wrap around the neck twice.

Yarn: Eden Cottage Yarns Oakworth DK (100% Wool), 224 meters / 245 yards per 100g, 0,5(1) skein each of 3 different colors. Colorways/yardage used:
C1: Hosta (light green) – 0,5(1) skein.
C2: Rosehip (pink) – 0,5(1) skein.
C3: Hyssop (dark green) – 0,5(1) skein.

Needles: 4 mm / US 6 circulars, 40 cm / 16 inches, or straight needles; optional: spare circular, same size for provisional cast on.

Gauge: Not crucial (but gauge will affect required yardage and final size) Sample uses gauge of 18 sts & 36 rows to 10 cm / 4 inches in garter stitch worked flat, after blocking.

Size: Small(Large)
Length/circumference: 70(140) cm / 27.5(55) inches.
Width: 30 cm / 11.75 inches for both sizes.
