Tewkesbury Abbey in Gloucestershire, Great Britain asked the public to contribute knitted monks by post to set up displays of monastic life.
They hoped to receive 900 knitted monks by October 23rd 2021, the 900th Anniversary of the Consecration of the Abbey.
The mailing address is mentioned on their site here.
As with all toys, knit at a tight gauge to prevent the stuffing showing through.
Materials :
DK (8-ply) yarn in black for robe, one of various skin tones for face and hands, a small amount of brown or other hair colour.
Yarn or embroidery floss for mouth and eyes.
Piece of foam to provide a flat base, additional stuffing material.
