About the Pattern:
I was designing this pattern just as Texas was hit by hurricane Harvey on 8/25/2017. This is how the pattern got its name. I decided to give out the pattern for free but ask the knitters to consider donating for the Texan hurricane victims.

Edit (March 20th 2019): The link to donate for Texan hurricane victims isn’t active anymore. I have replaced the specific link with the general American Red Cross donation page:
Here’s a link to the American Red Cross: https://www.redcross.org

About the pattern:
Did you also buy a Caron® CupcakeTM just because it looked so cute but didn’t really want to knit the hat pattern that came with the yarn? Well…here’s a very simple, sideways knit shawlette. You can wrap it around your neck and secure it with the pompom that comes with the yarn. Since the yarn is 100% acrylic you can steam block the fabric to achieve maximum drape. Just perfect for a shawlette.
