This pattern was designed to help new knitters become more comfortable with the knit and purl stitches and switching between them. The result is a basketweave scarf that changes pattern along its length. Giving an extra tug on the yarn when you switch from knit to purl and vice versa will help to prevent gaps between the pattern squares.

You should be able to complete this with a single skein of Centaur Worsted; be sure to check your gauge!
