A pretty knitted sleeve that turns jars and cans destined for the recycling bin into lovely knitted vessels.

This tutorial is written as a recipe; any weight of yarn is acceptable, as the sleeve is fitted during knitting. Needle size depends on what is specified for the chosen yarn.

The pattern is knit base-first, from the center out, and uses a provisional icord technique to create an invisible cast-on. Instructions are included for a garter stitch, corrugated, and trinity stitch cover, but the open-ended nature of the instructions allow for any variation imaginable.

The yardage required will vary based on yarn weight and the size of the container for which the cover is being made.
