The 50 Stitches CAL
A free version is also available.
The 50 Stitches Sampler Blanket is made up of 50 pieces, each made with a different crochet stitch to make this the ultimate sampler blanket. If you want to try out lots of different crochet stitches in a manageable, bite size way then this crochet pattern is what you need.
The 50 Stitches was originally released as a crochet along in 2020, and is now available in full both as a free pattern on my blog here and as an ad free pdf to purchase here on Ravelry. Each stitch has a video tutorial so you can crochet along with me and the written pattern has pictures to guide you through each step.
Each of the squares comes out at around 16cm on each side, and then the squares are joined together using an interlocking border. You can join the squares as you go or leave them all to the end so you can decide where you want each piece to be placed.
Because there are so many different stitches, tension can be an issue with this project. That’s why I use multiple hook sizes throughout. But treat these sizes as a guide rather than an absolute - change your hook size to suit your tension so that each piece comes out at a similar size.
The paid pattern here on Ravelry also includes a bonus piece which will add length to your blanket. This uses the Interlocking crochet technique and is not available in the free blog pattern.
To make the 50 Stitches Sampler Blanket you will need:
- 4000 meters of aran weight yarn in at least 2 different colours - I used Rico Creative Cotton Aran
- 3.5mm, 4mm, 4.5mm hooks
- Needle to weave in your ends
This pattern would suit an advanced beginner ready to stretch their skills and try out a variety of different crochet stitches.
The pattern you are purchasing is a digital download and not a physical copy.
You are permitted to sell your finished items made from this pattern, but I would appreciate being credited with designed by Froggity Frog in your listings.
