This is the first pattern in a series of 4 cable cowls. This piece is worked sideways, straight, with both ends seamed at the end. I chose an unusual ribbing pattern for the top and bottom of this cowl. There are two different cables, the center one being separated from the side cables by a twisted stitch on each side. This is a fairly easy design and a quick project that makes a wonderful gift.

Cables always look more complicated than they really are, and always look intricately beautiful.

You may use 2 different colors of yarn for this cowl. You can also easily double the yarn amount, double the number of repeats, and create an infinity scarf that you can wrap around your neck twice for added warmth.

Written instructions and chart.

Cowl number 2 published and called: The 68.
Cowl number 3 published and called: The 99.
Cowl number 4 published and called: The 69.

If you’ve never tried cables, this pattern would be a great way to start with easy to read instructions.

You can use worsted, aran, or bulky weight for this pattern. Gauge is not crucial.

Please, link your project to my pattern. I would love to see this cowl made with the other yarns/colors you may use.

I spend a lot of time checking and testing my design instructions. In the event you find something that doesn’t seem right, or if you have any questions, please contact me right away, and I will make sure to respond and/or fix it.
