The All of a Kind Dress is a knitted dress for ALL bodies, making each dress One Of A Kind.

The truth is, we shouldn’t fit into clothes, clothes should fit us. Fast fashion has made us believe that one garment should fit everyone the same, when in fact we are all made differently. We are all unique.

This pattern is for a sweater dress with an ease of only a few centimeters, if any. A dress worked from the top-down that will follow the shape of your body with just enough space for your body to breathe. Whether you are an adventurous beginner, a top-down newbie or an expert looking for a mindless project – this one’s for you.

What you will need

Measuring tape
8mm circular needles with 60, 80 and 100cm cords (or longer if you wish to try it on and your bust size is larger than this)
9 stitch markers
A darning needle to weave in the ends.

Some guided calculations will be done in sections 2 and 3, so a calculator can be helpful if you’re not confident with your mental arithmetics.

Yarn

The amount of yarn you will be needing for this pattern depends entirely on your own measurements, your preferences in length of the sleeves and the skirt, and the flare of your skirt. For this reason, it is difficult to estimate an amount per size.

This amount can range anywhere between 500 meters to 1500 meters.

Of course, you may use whatever you’d like, as long as it meets gauge.

The gauge for this pattern is 13 sts x 19 rows for 10cm x 10cm. Ensuring that you have the correct gauge is very important so that the garment fits perfectly!

This pattern is written in three sections for the body, with a fourth section for the sleeves.

Each section will be based on your own personal measurements. This means that for each section, you will be following the sizing in a different way.
