With the 30th anniversary of Hocus Pocus fast approaching, it is time to start thinking about cozy sweaters to wear when the fog rolls in and everyone’s favorite troublesome sisters come to visit. The Allison Cardigan is inspired by the sweater that the character of Allison wears throughout the original Hocus Pocus movie. It is a loose-fitting, drop shoulder, button-down cardigan with simple embroidery along the ribbed cuffs, collar, and patch pockets. It evokes feelings of grabbing your mom’s cardigan to wear before running out of the house…or heading off to defeat a trio of witches. This beginner-friendly pattern will bring back feelings of nostalgia for all, whether or not you are a fan of the movie, and the classic early-90’s silhouette will make it a wardrobe staple. Tutorials will be included for embroidery, but for a timeless look, leave the embroidery off, or use it only on the cuffs or pockets. The variations are endless and you will soon be ready for a cozy day at home, a bonfire with friends, trick-or-treating with the little ones, or saving all the residents of Salem.
