This baby blanket is a perfect baby shower gift, the perfect size for a receiving blanket or stroller blanket. I created this design for a friend expecting her first child: a baby boy. The beautiful and intricate knot stitch around the border adds texture; it replaces a regular ribbing for the edges and is carried throughout the body of the blanket to divide each section. Heart cables adorn each side of a bold Celtic cable in the center. The name I chose for this pattern describes how cherished this little boy will be: ‘amado’ means loved in Spanish.

This pattern is for advanced beginners but is not extremely complicated. The placement of markers helps define each section. You will need to know knit and purl stitches, increases and decreases and cables. Written instructions are included. Charts of the two cable patterns can be sent to you upon request. I feel that the written instructions in this pattern are much easier because of the variety of cables used in this design.

I always work hard at testing and checking my patterns many times to avoid mistakes. If you have any questions, find an error, or encounter a difficult spot, I would be more than happy to assist you. Just send me a message.
