These cuff-down ankle socks feature a simple textured pattern created with knit and purl stitches, resulting in a subtle rolled fabric across the leg and foot. And can be adjusted if you would like a longer leg.

The pattern includes instructions for:

1x1 ribbed cuff
Heel flap and heel turn
Gusset construction with stitch pick-up
Decreases (SSK and K2tog)
Anatomical toe shaping
Kitchener stitch grafting

A bonus modification section is included with guidance for adding colour work stripes, round toe shaping.

Skill level: Beginner to advanced beginner
Construction: Cuff-down
Techniques used: Knit, purl, picking up stitches, decreasing, grafting

This pattern is ideal for knitters looking to learn or practise classic sock construction techniques in a straightforward, wearable design.

I used 1 skein of Filcolana Awetta in the blush pink ankle socks, knitted on 2.5 mm DPN’s, Size M (I am a UK size 6)
