This is a top-down sock with a traditional heel flap. It is worked using magic loop; needle 1 will be front of foot/instep/leg, and needle 2 will be back of the foot/leg and heel.

There are 2 cables that run down the length of the sock (front of leg and top of foot). These cables represent the two aunts in the movie Practical Magic, which is what the colorway is named for as well. These aunts are always together, so they come as a pair, just like most things in knitting.

The cable pattern is both written and charted. It is easy enough to read the chart the same way, bottom to top, if you prefer toe up socks, just plug this into your toe up pattern of choice. Remember that cables snug a sock in, if you normally knit 64 st count on US #1/2.25mm, either go up a needle size or knit one size larger in pattern.
