This bag was inspired by structured leather handbags and designed to be both cute and practical

It’s made using Tunisian crochet (Tunisian simple stitch), which creates a dense fabric with very little stretch. To help the bag keep its shape, it’s fully lined with interfacing. The handle includes a plastic canvas sheet so it stays firm, and there’s also a bottom insert to prevent sagging, meaning the bag looks good whether it’s empty or filled with all your everyday things!

At first glance the lining and structure might seem a bit scary, but it’s all very doable and explained quite well. As long as you take your time and follow the steps, it comes together nicely. I’d say this is a solid intermediate project.

All the details like bag size, gauge, and materials are included inside the pattern.

This is my first pattern and I’m sharing it as a free draft version. It already includes all the rough instructions needed to make the structured, lined bag in Tunisian crochet. A more polished version will come later, with more detailed explanations for the lining, the strap, and notes on how to adapt the pattern for regular crochet.

Feedback is very welcome, especially while this is still a draft
