The Autumn Bandana
This squishy, asymmetrical bandana is worked flat in garter stitch, creating a cozy, lightly textured fabric with plenty of stretch and drape. Simple stockinette columns run along the bottom edge, adding subtle detail and contrast to the otherwise ridged texture. Starting by casting on and increasing on one edge every fourth row, the shape grows gradually into a modern long triangular form that’s easy to wear tied around the neck or tucked into a jacket.
The combination of garter stitch and minimal stockinette accents gives it both softness and visual interest, making it a versatile accessory you’ll reach for again and again.

Yarn: I used Imperial Yarn Denali Sport weight 195 yards. I only used about 100-130 yards of the yarn. Also, this yarn acts a lot like a dk weight, so just be aware of that.
Needles: I used size US 6 (4.0 mm) circular knitting needles, though you may use straight needles if preferred.
Gauge: 15 sts and 34 rows over 4” in garter stitch knit flat (the gauge for this pattern isn’t very crucial or important at all! Just make sure your needles fit the yarn that you plan to use.)
Size: The finished bandana measures 22” across and 11.5” deep, but it is adjustable.
