My latest contribution for the SuperSock Scarefest, and the first up in the 2015 round. I give to you…The Babadook. A sleeper hit in the horror genre, this slowly builds up the tension as it goes. If you’re knitting the sock while watching, pay close attention to your knitting tension as you go!

The pattern is written for the two circular needle method but can be easily adjusted for magic loop or double-pointed needles. There are two different motifs inspired by the movie, allowing you to knit a matched pair or mix things up.

Yardage requirements are for the full pair. If you plan to knit a mismatched pair, you will need approximately 150 yds each of MC1 and MC2, and 100 yds of CC.

To knit this pattern, you should be comfortable with stranded knitting, following a chart, and basic sock construction. Links are provided to videos demonstrating special techniques. Duplicate stitch may be substituted for working intarsia in the round.

My computer refused to create a single PDF and continues to separate the pattern into two different PDF’s, one listing the requirements and the other with the pattern. As such, please be sure to download both sections of the pattern.
