The Beachcomber is a design for lazy days, knit with super soft and comfy organic cotton. It was inspired by the “Big White House” my family goes to on holiday every year in Maine. The landscape is rugged, rocky and teeming with life; the perfect place for young kids to explore. These designs are what I picture my kids wearing as they watch the lobstermen pull their traps on the bay, crawling on the rocks hunting for mussels, or flying a kite in the big yard with the salty breeze carrying it heavenward. This pattern features two distinct designs with several variations. Version one is an a-line jumper, with version two a traditional roomy sweater. Both have the option of tank or long sleeves, and a hood or sailor collar. Set-in sleeve detailing makes for a perfect, comfortable fit! Five sizes from 1T through 8-10 make this a pattern you can use year after year, for all the kids. Sample is knit with Inca Organic cotton, at a gauge of 4 stitches per inch on size 8 needles - easily substituted with any of your favorite yarns!
