This pattern is for a beanie called The Bert. It is worked by creating a ribbed band and worked up from there. It can be made as a closed hat with a pompom or as a messy bun hat!

This hat can be made for any size head! Just size the band for the circumference of the head you are making it for, and repeat the rows as necessary to create the height you need.

Due to my tight tension, this pattern will feature a lot of tips for figuring out your own size. Other than the band, I do not give any stitch counts, only measurements. You are free to make this hat custom to the measurements you need, but I do provide my own measurements so you can copy the look if you want it exact.

I have used a few different types of yarn for this project so far. Vanna’s Choice, I Love This Yarn, and Loops and Threads Impeccable. You will only need one skein of the Loops and Threads or the I Love This Yarn, but Vanna’s Choice will require two skeins.

I used a J/10 - 6.00mm hook to create this hat.

Please feel free to sell products made with my pattern. I just ask that you link back to my blog to give credit for the pattern. Please do not use my pictures! Thank you!
