I came up with these ears when knitting the Speckled Fawn Hat and I wasn’t happy with the ears in the pattern. I tried over a dozen ears from different patterns before giving up and making my own, and knit these several times to come up with the perfect shape.

Although originally made for the Speckled Fawn Hat, I’ve also used them on bunny ear hats, and think they look much nicer than the traditional longer bunny ears that flop over. These ears stand nice and tall once the hat is on a head.

Use them in whatever colour you need for your pattern. This was designed for use with worsted, aran, or bulky weight yarn. The yarns listed are just some of the ones I’ve used for these ears…. use whatever you need!
