I call this knit a thumb cable because I use my thumb as the cable needle when making the cabling design. This is a quick pattern, knit with 100 yards of super bulky yarn in the round on circular or double pointed needles. I would consider this an intermediate pattern, altho none of the stitches are difficult, you just need to know knits and purls, simple increasing and decreasing.
