Please note that if you purchase all four patterns (Carabosse shawl, The Blue Haired Fairy Shawl, Fée Marraine, and the Oberon socks) in this collection you can do so for a reduced price. This should happen automatically and does include previous purchases. This price may not always be cheaper than other discounts and sales, but will always be on offer.

The shawl and yarn are both inspired by the blue (or turquoise, depending on the translation) haired fairy from Pinocchio. I really love this fairy. She has a way of being what Pinocchio needs at any time. So sometimes she is a child; sometimes a grown up. She does tough love and she is gentle. She is, ultimately, Pinocchio’s moral guardian angel.

I wanted the shawl to reflect her solidity and presence but also the floatiness we associate with fairies and love.

This is the third pattern in my Fairies in Literature collection, and part of the collaboration with Tami from Eternity Ranch Knits.

YARN

1 skein Eternity Ranch Knits Umpqua yarn
(4ply / fingering; 75% Superwash Merino, 15% Nylon, 10% Tencel). 396 metres (433 yards) / 110 grams in Blue Haired Fairy.

Amount of yarn used: 391 metres (428 yards).
Good substitutions would include any yarn of a similar weight and composition.
