Pattern Construction:
Bonnie begins at the back of the neck, short rows are worked to raise the back. The rest of the back is worked flat with shaping for the armholes, then put on hold when it is time to separate for the sleeves.

Next the front panels are picked up and worked individually. Again the neckline and armholes are shaped until sleeve separation is reached. The front and back panels are now joined and worked together flat until desired length, then a picot edge is worked.

Next each sleeve is picked up individually and short rows are worked to shape the sleeve cap. The sleeves are then worked in the round with a series of decreases until desired length, then a picot edge is worked.

Next stitches are picked up along the neckline and a picot edge is worked.

Finally, stitches are picked up along each side (effectively the “button band” although there are no buttons) and a picot edge is worked.

The finishing touch is the mohair bow. Stitches are picked up on each side of the cardigan and the ties for the bow are knit in garter until desired length is reached.
