The Captain slipover is knitted top-down. You start with the upper back, then the right and left front sides. Then the front and back are joined on a circular needle and the body is worked in the round.
Pick up stitches in the edges of sleeves and neck and work the ribbing. Finish with italian bind off.
The slipover has three stripes of moss stitch to obtain the perfect sailor-look.
