Is is a shawl? Is it a poncho? Is it almost like a cardigan? Well it’s all of those things, which is why I named it the Cardigo Shawl or “Cardigo” for short. (Poncho loses out rather, only getting one letter - but “Cardigo” sounds so much cuter than “Ponchigan”!)

This is a knitting pattern for a rectangular shawl that splits into two half way along so that you can wear it draped over your shoulders lengthways. The front panels are knit first (separately), and then joined together so that the back is knit as one large piece. If you want to make it fit more like a cardigan, you could attach ribbons to the outer edges so that you can tie the front panels to the back under your arms.
