This lightweight triangular shawl incorporates two distinct Japanese lace stitches. It is knit from the top down, and the stitches cause a pretty and delicate scallop at the neckline. While the shawl looks difficult to knit, it is not hard, and is suitable for intermediate knitters.

The finished pattern measures 82 inches wide across the top, and is 34 inches at the deepest point. There are also instructions for an optional crochet edging and optional tassels

The stitches are charted out and written out line by line.

Skill Level: Intermediate (assuming some cable lace experience)

The sample was knit out of Lorna’s Laces Solemate yarn, in colorway, Mirth.

The sample was expertly pattern tested by Marie Franzosa, who can be reached at: franzosm@ math.oregonstate.edu.
