“The Chipmunks” is a bonnet style hat that works the Brava Stripes colorways so you don’t have to do any planning and like real chipmunks, each hat is unique in striping. Hat is worked flat in stockinette stitch from chin ribbing to top with garter stitch edging. The top is worked from back to front while being knit together with the side stitches. Pattern comes in 4 sizes; toddler, child, adult, and adult large (dad can be Dave and the 3 little ones can be Alvin, Simon, and Theodore, or mom and 2 lil ones can be the chipmunks, etc.) Note measurements are a bit different than a traditional hat; 7 (8, 9, 10)”/ 18 (20, 23, 25)cm depth X 7.25 (8.25, 9.25, 20.25)”/ 18 (21, 23, 26)cm height
There are 2 options for the hat top; continue with brava to create different size stripes on the top of the head versus the sides or work top in fur. Both options bound off to create a “v” over the forehead. The ears are knit separately and attached to top. Ties can be decorative or used to keep the little one’s hats on.
