A classic, top-down raglan with a soft, easy drape and clean lines. Knit at a relaxed-medium worsted gauge for that slouchy turtleneck feel—drapey without being floppy.

Design Features

  • Top-down, seamless raglan construction
  • Crew neckline shaped flat, then joined in the round (turtle neck knit later)
  • Straight body; simple 1×1 rib hem and cuffs

Construction & Techniques

  • Knit flat to shape the neckline, then in the round for yoke, body, and sleeves
  • Raglan increases worked with M1R/M1L (and M1RP/M1LP on WS)
  • Sleeves picked up from holders and knit in the round with paired decreases
  • Underarm stitches cast on to bridge the divide (knitted or backloop CO)
  • Stretchy bind-off in rib recommended (e.g., Ruke sewn bind-off or Jeny’s)

Materials & Specifications

  • Yarn weight: Worsted (any worsted that meets gauge)
  • Yardage: size-by-size yardage table included in pattern
  • Suggested needles: 5.0 mm (US 8) for main fabric; 3.5–4.0 mm (US 4–6) for ribbing/neckband; circulars + DPNs or magic loop (or sizes to meet gauge)
  • Notions: 8 stitch markers (incl. BOR + raglan lines), stitch holders/waste yarn, tapestry needle, scissors

Gauge

  • 19 sts × 24 rnds = 10 cm (4”) in stockinette, knit in the round, after washing/blocking
  • Relaxed-medium worsted gauge—nice drape for a slouchy turtleneck without being floppy. Adjust needle size to meet gauge and preferred fabric.
