This is a super simple cowl pattern, that can easily be whipped up in an afternoon while curled up on the couch, “The Cozy Afternoon Cowl.” :)

My cowl measures 14 inches wide while lying flat (so 28 inches around), and 11.5 inches tall. Please make the dimensions of this cowl to your preference, and simply let my pattern act as a guide.

You will need:

  1. Approximately 300 yards of #4 worsted weight yarn (I used 2 skeins of I Love This Wool! Blend. Use whatever you like as long as it’s a “stiffer” yarn. I originally tried Caron Simply Soft with this pattern and it fell a little flat). You may also use a chunkier yarn. Simply adjust the pattern to your preference if using a thicker yarn!

  2. Size 5 mm - 6 mm hook. I used a 5 mm hook, but the yarn recommend a 6 mm. Use whatever hook is most comfortable for you.

  3. Scissors

  4. Tapestry needle

Pattern notes:

  1. This pattern features the camel stitch (crocheting in the “back loop” or “3rd loop” of the hdc) If you are unfamiliar with the camel stitch, YouTube is your friend! It’s extremely simple, and it creates the, ribbed faux knit look you see in the picture.
