The Dimholt Road

Beyond the Firienfeld where horsemen gathered
Before the Dimholt’s pine-needled floor,
Follow the path through the deep forest
To the Dwimorberg and the Dark Door.

Into the caverns beneath the mountain,
Where the living dare not tread
Past the aged, forgotten cities
Slowly twist the Paths of the Dead.

Oathbreakers there are damned to wander;
Isildur’s curse still haunts and holds
The spirits who trace the mountain paths,
Beyond the trail of the Dimholt Road.

Cursed to find no rest or peace,
To haunt the mountains and despair,
Until their broken vows are kept
And oaths are honored to Isildur’s heir.

Come to the Stone, where pledges were given
When we were whole, and strong and hale,
Where long ago we knelt in sunlight,
Swearing fealty at Morthond Vale.
