The Distressed Mesh Vest
The Distressed Mesh Vest
Us terms - English only
Made-to-fit
Intermediate - Advance
This crochet pattern is a 14 page PDF on how to crochet this piece, including a written pattern, diagrams and progress pictures.
This super cool distressed mesh top is perfect as a stand alone vest, or as a layering piece. This pattern is made for intermediate crocheters. This pattern is made-to-fit, meaning that you can make any size, using any size of yarn and hook you like. This piece should take you around 18-25 hours to complete.
Materials
- Around 100-300g of yarn - this will be determined by vest size + yarn type
- A crochet hook around 0.5-1mm larger than your yarn suggests
- A measuring tape
- Scissors
- Needle for ends
- Optionally - 2 stitch markers
Recommended yarn
Any yarn will work, but I would recommend cotton. The weight of the yarn will affect the thickness of the vest, as well as the appearance of the stitches. Where a thinner weight will give you a light, lacy finish, and a heavier yarn weight will create a thicker, bulkier finish. I prefer a medium to light weight cotton (Around DK), but you can experiment with other materials. Below, I have provided yarn that my testers and I have used for this pattern.
Yeoman yarns - DK soft cotton
Scheepjes - latona fingering 3.5
Rowan - handknit cotton
Construction guide
We will create two panels bottom up, and sew them together. Then we will optionally add single crochet borders and sew in ends.
