On the heels of my other Doctor Who-inspired sock patterns, I am super excited to have collaborated with Mel of The Yarn Tree on this Doctor Who sock pattern. This pattern is inspired by the time when the Doctor’s companion Donna becomes The Doctor Donna.

The Design - On these toe-up or cuff-down socks, the foot represents the regeneration energy of Donna’s transformation. The leg has a series of repeating V’s to represent how Donna begins to repeat everything (“you know you could fix that chameleon circuit if you just tried hot-binding the fragment links and superseding the binary, binary, binary, binary, binary, binary, binary, binary, binary, binary, binary, binary, binary, binary, I’m fine!”) because her body cannot handle being part Time Lord and part human.

Grab your yarn and your needles. ”I’m fine!” Happy Knitting!

These socks are knit using the magic loop method (although the purchaser could easily adapt it for two circulars or double points).

This pattern includes toe-up and cuff-down instructions.

The knitter needs to be comfortable with the following techniques: knit, purl, knit through the back loop (ktbl), M1LP, M1RP, purl two together (p2tog), slipped stitches, slip slip purl (ssp), cables, and wrap and turns (W+T). Instructions for all these techniques are included in the pattern. In addition, a video tutorial for the shadow wrap technique of W+T for short rows has been recorded by the designer.

This pattern includes instructions in both written and chart forms for 56 stitch, 64 stitch, and 72 stitch socks.

I’d like to express my immense gratitude to the creators of Doctor Who for their entertaining work. This design would never have been possible without their inspiration.

Huge thanks to my amazing test knitters: Andrea (angeiship), Ann (roocmc), Carolyn (craftypw), Jayne (Jcstormy), & Susan (clucks)! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Pattern was tech edited by the phenomenal Rachel (porpoise)! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Sample was knit by the brilliant Dami (damisdoodles) ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
