This cowl was inspired by a secondary character in the television series Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries. More precisely from Series 2 Episode 5 “Murder a la Mode”. After a scene in a Haute Couture Salon in which Dot is told her style is a suit because she is so sensible.

My response was something like “Even if she is sensible it doesn’t mean it can’t be beautiful!” I was, I admit, a little incensed at the situation and I decided to design a sensible accessory with luscious alpaca.

Using just over a skein of yarn (you will likely have most of the second skein left when finished) I created a cozy, sensible and stylish cowl for any “proper lady or gent” to wear.

To honor Dot I designed a dot on the stockinette side of the cowl.

You can increase the circumference of the cowl by adding 2 stitches increments at cast on to obtain the desired width.
