Inspired by the hares seen in the fields of North Yorkshire where Ellie Stokeld keeps her flock of rare breed Border Leicesters, these mittens are knitted with yarn produced from these beautiful sheep.
The design features a cabled cuff which looks very intricate but is actually only a simple 8 row pattern repeat. The garter stitch border hugs the wrist keeping out the cold. Stitches are picked up from the cuff to begin the body of the
mittens starting with a 3 row Latvian Braid. The mittens are charted and designed for two circular needles, one for the back and one for the palm making the charts easy to follow.
