This hat is reminiscent of The Dude sweater in The Big Lebowski. Learn more about the development of the pattern here on my blog. It uses a light worsted weight yarn so that is nice and thick.

Notes:

• This is best for intermediate-level knitters or at least done some fair isle before
• Each repeat (20 sts) is about 3.5”
• The cast on uses the tubular cast-on that you can find on Knitty.com: http://knitty.com/ISSUEfall05/FEATfall05TT.html

Approximate Sizes:
Small: 14-15” head
Medium: 18.5-21” head
Large: 21.5-23” head
X-Large: 24+“ head

Yarn Weight: Light worsted wieght/DK - Cascade 220 superwash

Gauge: 13 stitches and 13 rows = 2.5cm (2inches) in pattern

Needle Size: US 2 - 2.75mm & US 4 - 3.5mm

Total Yarn Amount Needed: 32-48m (35-52 yards)
