This cute pixie bonnet is “easy peasy” to make, with :

  • no seams to sew or stitch together
  • only three stitches used to create the entire bonnet: treble, chain and slip stitch.
  • thicker hook size so the bonnet works up very quickly

The detailed 21-page pattern contains:

  • detailed instructions including instructional photos and ‘handy hints’ for extra support. These make the pattern suitable for beginners who already know how to create treble, chain and slip stitch (the pattern does not include instructions for creating these stitches).

  • separate instructions for each size, as well as a one page compilation of instructions for all sizes (for easy reference and printing)

  • a size chart including measurements of completed bonnets

  • instructions for creating a tension/guage swatch

  • a stitch abbreviations chart (note, pattern does not include instructions for forming the basic stitches)

  • this pattern has been pattern tested to ensure accuracy.

Safety Warning
String ties at the neck can cause a safety risk to babies/children if the strings or loops catch onto an obstacle, or somehow over tighten around the neck. This bonnet should only be worn under close adult supervision, ideally with the ties left untied.
Most countries/regions have product safety standards for children’s garments, and may have specific mandates for string ties. So check those that are relevant to you, and make any necessary adjustments to the pattern.
