The little elephant is made with sport weight cotton yarn and features a minimalistic yet cute look. Except for the ears and the tail, all the pieces are worked in rounds/spirals in a single crochet stitch. Body, head, legs, belly, and trunk are worked in one piece. Tail and ears are the only pieces that require sewing. The ears are crocheted in turning rows with slip stitches worked in front loops only. This makes a thin yet dense, reversible, and beautiful fabric.
I embroider eyes in my toys, but you can use safety eyes, beads, or tiny buttons if you prefer.
The finished toy is about 13cm / 5.1 in long if made with sport weight yarn and 2.5mm hook.
If you want a larger toy, you may try to work with a thicker yarn and a larger hook. Please, keep in mind that yarn meterage/yardage and the amount of fiberfill will increase.
