This cowl was designed to look like the arms of a tree, reaching into the sky. “Elswyth” means “elf from the willow tree”, which I think suits the pattern perfectly. Simple cable twists and purl stitches come together to form a pattern that may look tricky but is actually quite easy to achieve.

This pattern includes directions to make it in Bulky weight and Super Bulky weight yarn.

Approximately 150 yards of Super Bulky weight yarn (so about 1 1/2 skeins of Lion Brand Wool-Ease Thick and Quick yarn), or approximately 200 yards of Bulky weight yarn (so just under one skein of Lion Brand Color Made Easy, or about 1 1/2 skeins of Lion Brand Hue&Me) are used to make one adult sized cowl. One Size will fit most adults.
