While the Essential Cardigan has waist shaping and tapered sleeves, this companion piece has an A-line or flared fit on the body and the short sleeves for a fit with a lot of ease. One way to customize this fit is to decrease or increase the angle of the flare for something a little more or less close fitting.

Prefer a frilly picot trim to the tailored crab stitch trim shown here? Remember that the parts of the Essential Pullover and the Essential Cardigan are interchangeable, so have at it!

Several of the garments in this book have A-Line shaping. That doesn’t mean everything will look like a babydoll style! For those of us who are a little wider at the ribcage or waist than the bust, the shaping will accommodate those inches while giving the appearance of straight side seams.
