This cowl uses cable stitches throughout but without needing a cable needle. It’s all simply done through the use of some simple but creative knitting.

Once I started knitting with this alpaca, merino, silk yarn, this Ying Yang-type of pattern just seemed to emerge. The colours blended beautifully and were just enough for a warm pre-winter cowl.

The name, the Fall of the Cowl, comes from Nathan Filer’s book The Shock of the Fall. Whenever I use the word fall, I can’t help but remember that wonderful book. If you haven’t read it then I highly recommend it.
