I knew I wanted to create something that was very straightforward, not too fussy, and quick to knit up. I also knew I wanted this sweater to be knit with pure wool yarn that wasn’t expensive and was quite easy to find. I imagined a warm, comfy, no frills pullover that was perfect to wear while working in the barn or raking leaves. Combining textured garter stitch with a feminine pattern stitch was the perfect combination. The boxy shape is classic and easy to wear. The body is worked flat and the sides are the only part that’s seamed. The 3/4 length sleeves are created by picking up the stitches and knitting in reverse stockinette stitch on circular needles.
My favorite part about this sweater is how fun it is to knit. It’s really addictive and quite frankly, hard to put down. I was thrilled to be able to finish the small version in just under five days!! This is the perfect sweater to give as a gift. Please let me know how many days it takes you to make.
Happy knitting my crafty friends!
