Introducing the Four Seasons Dress!
This 1930s / 1940s inspired dress is the final pattern in the Four Seasons Package over at Squid’s School of Vintage Knitting. This 23 page pattern will walk you through the process of making a knitted dress tailored to your measurements from start to finish with helpful charts, links, photo tutorials, and a video for setting in the sleeves.
The main dress is worked in one piece in opposite directions. The skirt is constructed first beginning at the waistband and working downwards. When that is complete, stitches are picked up from the waistband and the top half is worked bottom up with a simultaneous button band. Choose between long or short puffed sleeves - the long sleeves are shown on the suit version of this pattern, photo at the bottom of this page - which are worked separate and set into the garment.

The best part of the Four Seasons theme are the interchangeable seasonal panels! Choose from the Spring, Summer, Autumn, or Winter stitch motif, or create your own using the guide on the last page of the pattern! Seasonal motifs are inserted on the front two panels of the skirt, the skirt hem, and around the front & back shoulders.
The dress pictured here is in the Spring pattern!

Like always, my garment patterns use a body measurement x gauge system of pattern writing, making them fully size inclusive and tailored to your personal measurements. There are plenty of resources at Squid School to get you started on this method of pattern instruction!
