This easy-to-make kids hat is really warm and cozy with a large pom on top.

• DESCRIPTION

The hat is easy to make, with advanced beginner knitters in mind.

Using knit and purl stitches, you will create ribbing, learn to knit in the round and it will also introduce you to decreasing and shaping.

This hat will be super cozy to wear in the cold weather.

Yarn

1 ball (or skein) of super bulky yarn (Lion Brand Hometown in Chicago Charcoal (150) or something similar) suitable for size 10.00mm (US 15) needles.

Super bulky weight – 106 yards.

1 ball (or skein) (or enough scrap yarn) for the pom-pom.

Needles

Set of 10.00mm (US 15) 16″ circulars for the hat
You may also need a set of 10mm (US 10) double-pointed needles to complete the decreases for the crown.

This is an easy/advanced beginner-level knitting pattern and the techniques involved are the knit stitch, purl stitch, increasing, decreasing, and working in the round.

This hat pattern was made for size – 4 to 12 years.
