Construction Overview
The Grammy Tee is worked flat from the center out, creating two identical pieces (front and back). Custom measurements will determine whether you work additional rows on two opposite edges to achieve your desired length or width before assembly and trim.
Once both panels are complete, stitches are picked up along the top edge of each to knit a contrasting ribbed strip (worked flat), which forms the neck and shoulders. The panels are then joined at the top. Next, the sides are sewn together to create the body of the tee with armholes. then, stitches are picked up around the lower edge, and a knitted trim is added (worked in the round) for a polished result. Finally, stitches are picked up along the edge of each armhole to add a bit of classic ribbing (worked in the round).
Measuring for a Custom Fit
To create your perfect fit, you’ll need three measurements: bust, high hip, and body length. These will determine the size of your central square and the final adjustments for your tee. The pattern walks you through this process, step by step.
Notions
