The Green Shoots Blanket
This the third in the series of Blanket designs which began with the May Blossom blanket. Based around the colours of the seasons, the Green Shoots blanket celebrates the birth of the new year, the awakening of the ground still covered with ice and snow, the new green shoots beginning to appear through the cold ground and heralding Spring.
It is rectangular in shape, made up of strips of granny squares and granny stripes.
The pattern itself is very simple and suitable for a confident beginner but it’s the combinations of colours which make it look complicated.
You will need 18 balls of acrylic DK yarn in 100g balls. I’ve listed Yarnsmiths Create DK as my choice, but you can use any DK yarn you like. If you want to match the colours, the pattern has colour images of each shade alongside the name.
There are detailed photo tutorials throughout the pattern and links to video tutorials.
