The Healing Shawl
The Healing Shawl is a crochet shawl with soothing and simple granny stitches to help makers find comfort and healing in their stitching.
It’s intended to be used with either a 12 or 25 day fingering weight mini skein advent, but really any weight yarn can be used (shawl measurements and yardage will vary if using different weight yarn).
Included in this pattern:
- The story behind the shawl and yarn (Trigger Warning For Pet Loss)
- The Healing Shawl instructions (beginner friendly with 3 set up rows and 1 row repeat for the whole pattern).
- Mental Health Resources including journal prompts, comfort movie watch list, suggested ASMR videos, and my favorite mental health, grief, and trauma therapy accounts to follow.
Construction:
The Healing Shawl is a triangle shawl made with granny stitches and very simple increases. It was designed as an advent project, but would make a wonderful scrappy/stash busting project as well.
Difficulty Level:
Adventurous Beginner - You will need to know FDC, DC, and how to read your stitches and chains.
Suggested Yarn:
12 or 25 day (20 g/87 yd) fingering weight mini skein advent
Sample made with Chelsea Yarns 2024 Holiday advent
