A rummage through your pantry, a walk around your neighborhood, or a stroll through the woods will likely bring you into contact with a number of familiar plants: Rosemary, Dandelion, Yarrow, Plantain, Lemon Balm, Violet, Mint, Rose… not only do these plants, and many others, contribute variety, beauty and flavor to our lives, they also each hold unique medicine. They can be uplifting, grounding, energizing, soothing, and powerfully healing. Sometimes their medicine can be accessed by adding herbs to our tea or to our cooking or by crafting tinctures and salves, but often we receive their medicine by just being near the plants. I feel a deep and profound gratitude for the many ways in which people and plants are connected and how unselfishly the plants share their numerous gifts with us.
